The honest answer

Why we cost less than the big firms.

Cheap and good aren't opposites — but cheap for no reason should worry you. Here's exactly where the difference comes from, so you can judge for yourself.

No showroom to pay for

A city showroom costs a builder tens of thousands a year. That lands in your quote. We bring the samples to your kitchen table instead.

No sales commission

Big firms pay reps 5–10% to sign you up. Nobody here works on commission, so nobody has a reason to talk you into more than you need.

No layers of management

No project managers marking up every trade on the way through. Fewer hands in the job means fewer margins stacked on top of your price.

Trade accounts, passed on

Fifteen years of buying from the same tile and tapware suppliers gets us trade pricing. We don't mark it up twice on the way to you.

Upgrade your tiles, tapware or vanity at any time — we'll show you the exact price difference before you commit. Older homes built between the 1950s and 1980s can hide water damage or asbestos sheeting; if we find it, you get a written price before anyone touches it.

Questions

The things everyone asks.

How can you do a complete bathroom for $19,999 when the Melbourne average is $27,300?

Three reasons, and none of them involve cutting corners on the parts you can't see. We don't run a showroom, we don't pay sales commissions, and there's no office layer between you and the trades — that's a large chunk of a big firm's overhead gone. The trade-off is real, though: $19,999 buys a complete bathroom with fixtures in their existing positions and finishes from our standard range. Move the plumbing or pick imported tapware and the price goes up, and we'll show you exactly by how much before you decide.

Is the waterproofing done properly at that price?

Yes, and it's never the thing to save money on. Every job is waterproofed to Australian Standard AS 3740 by a licensed applicator and you receive the certificate at handover. It's a legal requirement, it's what fails first when a cheap job goes wrong, and it's included in every price on this page.

What does the free site inspection involve?

We come to your home, measure up, checks the subfloor, plumbing and any signs of water damage, and talks through what's realistic for your budget. It takes about 45 minutes. You get a written fixed price afterwards. There's no charge, no obligation, and nobody will sit at your table pressuring you to sign.

Is $19,999 really the price, or does it grow?

It's the price for a complete bathroom with fixtures staying in their existing positions and finishes from our standard range — tiles, vanity, toilet, screen, tapware, waterproofing, rubbish and GST all in. Three things can move it: relocating plumbing, upgrading finishes, and hidden damage behind the walls. All three are quoted in writing before any extra work happens, and you decide.

How long will my bathroom be out of action?

Around four weeks on site for a complete bathroom, two to three weeks for an ensuite, and five to six weeks if we're moving plumbing to new positions. Kitchens run five to seven weeks, and the bottleneck there is cabinetry manufacturing rather than the build itself. We'd rather quote you a date we can actually hit than a short one we can't — you get the dates in writing, and we start when we say we will.

What if you find something unexpected behind the wall?

In homes built between the 1950s and 1980s we quite often do — water damage, rotten subfloor, old asbestos sheeting. We stop, photograph it, and give you a written price before any extra work happens. You decide. Nothing gets added to your bill without you agreeing to it first.

Which suburbs do you cover?

All of metropolitan Melbourne — north, west, inner east, bayside and south-east. Send us a message even if you're a bit further out; if we've got a job nearby we can usually make it work.
